Perhaps you do not work in IT at all and you simply like the idea of becoming a Network Engineer as a career path. I myself started off exactly this way too. With no prior IT experience, but alot of determination and self study I acquired the CCNA certification and joined a company as a junior network engineer. As they say, from there the rest is history! There are no barriers to entry in this industry despite what others may tell you. If you learn the fundamentals, practice the concepts and can articulate your knowledge to a potential employer, you could stand out against other candidates who may already have experience in the IT industry. Having someone teach you who has been there and done that could give you a great advantage over the rest of the field and set you on your own path to success!
What you can expect from my online network tutoring...
1 on 1 learning, focused only on you
The biggest advantage with having a 1 on 1 tutoring session with myself is that all my attention and focus will be on you, and you alone. Whilst online or in-person network engineering courses are great and do provide value, you are of course sharing a classroom with many other students. More often than not, the content is fixed, and goes through at a set pace. If you misunderstand a topic or fall behind, it can be difficult to keep up and the session will not stop for you alone.
Personalized tailor made session
Ahead of the first session I will plan what we will cover based on your current level of knowledge and understanding. The topics will be based on either what you feel you'd like to cover, or if you are not sure, I will take you through a logical progression based lesson, which starting from the ground up will cover all the bases you need to achieve your goals.
Labs and hands-on learning
Network engineer tutoring doesn't just have to be about us talking. It is very important for any network engineer to practice their new found knowledge in the form of hands on labs. Network engineering is a skills based role after all, and being able to execute your knowledge on the CLI is vital to both passing exams such as the CCNA, passing job interviews, and performing well in your new career.
Feedback and study plans
Based on our sessions together I will assess where you currently are in terms of your progression and study. Further sessions will be tailored to fit around your weakness, so that they become a strength. I will provide you with honest feedback so you know where to focus your attentions. Follow up topics, lab ideas and areas to improve upon will be shared after the sessions.
Study groups and community learning
If being part of a study group with other like minded students is something that interests you, I'll invite you to join a Whatsapp, Discord or Reddit forum, depending on your preferences. There, you can ask questions and join a feedback loop with other people who are looking to achieve the same goals as yourself.
Exam or interview preparation
If your goal is to pass a specific exam, or to land that dream network engineer role you have an interview for, I can help you prepare to give you the best possible chance of success. I've had many job interviews in my time, and I've interviewed many candidates. I can provide you with valuable insight as to what employers are looking for in candidates within the network industry.
